Percy Jackson Review

This blog contains both reviews for Percy Jackson books and movies.

.

Books:

I absolutely adore the books written by Rick Riodan. What will happen if I add a little bit of boring history stuffs into a modern awkward boy's life?

'BOOM'.

A new miracle happens. Every book Rick wrote is full of humor, interesting mythologies, random-awkward-guy moments and cute romance moments that just make you want to tear your hair out.

This storyline and idea is creative and cool, with the perfect touch of cute shipable moments. Rick is probably the only writer in the world who would not create heartbreaking and detailed scenes often, but admit it, you screamed when Luke died. Well, I did. This greatly reduces the crying parts, but the 'plot twist' kind of thing is definitely reduced too.

Unlike Twilight, the romance parts are usually kept to the minimum and rather short enough for the other characters to not get awkward. Poor Leo. I am definitely not a fan of the romance genre so yes, I am bias.

However, most of the time, the writing is rather lacking in the emotional parts and also the detailed parts. That might be one of the important points in writing.

7/10 for the awesome story and adventures. If Rick created a story about World War 2, I would have memorized everything.

Movies:

I have no idea how to express my boiling fury for the movie director.

1. Percy should be 12.

2. Annabeth has blonde hair and grey eyes.

3. Luke has a scar on his face.

4. Basically all the parts they changed, which is like 90% of it.

The monsters seems incapable of doing anything except to fool around.

But the effects were nicely done and quite cool, especially Kronos. Some of the parts did not really make sense though. (Watch Everything Wrong with Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif)

Sorry, producers, 3/10 for disappointing all Demigods.
